Alana Reed

Administrative Assistant

Alana graduated from Lakehead University, ON as an Ontario Certified Teacher in 2016. She earned a Bachelor of Arts and Science in geography in addition to her Bachelor of Education. Alana is qualified to teach at the primary/junior level and has experience with the intermediate level as well. She has obtained additional qualifications in special education, reading, and primary/junior mathematics. She has experience in the classroom and also in providing one-on-one academic tutoring and remediation to students with learning disabilities, attention issues, and behavioural difficulties. At New Bridges, Alana works as an administrative assistant supporting our team in their clinical work. She also works one-on-one with individual students providing executive function support.

Dr. Michelle Neufeld

C. Psych.

Dr. Michelle Neufeld graduated with her Ph.D. in psychology from the School and Child Clinical Psychology Program at OISE/UT in 2002. Prior to this, she attended McMaster University and the University of Western Ontario and obtained degrees in psychology and educational psychology. Michelle has trained in various hospitals and clinics in Toronto. She completed a pre-doctoral internship and did post-doctoral research and clinical work at The Hospital for Sick Children. She has also trained at the Hincks-Dellcrest Centre and the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH), and worked at the Toronto District School Board. Michelle also worked in the Child and Adolescent Mental Health units at Trillium Health Centre in Mississauga and North York General Hospital. Currently, in private practice, Michelle conducts psychoeducational assessments and sees children and teenagers in therapy (CBT) for anxiety and depression.

Dr. Alisa Kenny Bridgman

Dr. Alisa Kenny Bridgman graduated with her Ph.D. in psychology from the School and Child Clinical Psychology Program at OISE/UT in 2002. Prior to this, she attended Queen’s University and McGill University and obtained degrees in psychology and education. Alisa has a background as a teacher and has worked with students with learning disabilities and behaviour problems. Alisa has trained in various hospitals and clinics in Toronto. She completed a pre-doctoral internship and did post-doctoral research and clinical work at The Hospital for Sick Children. She has also trained at Surrey Place Centre and worked at the Toronto District School Board and Integra Children’s Mental Health Centre for many years. Currently, in private practice, Alisa conducts psychoeducational assessments and sees children, teenagers, and adults in therapy (CBT) for anxiety (Generalized Anxiety, OCD) and depression.

Dr. Iris Kaidar

Dr. Iris Kaidar graduated with her Ph.D. in psychology from the School and Child Clinical Psychology Program at OISE/UT in 2004. Prior to this, she attended McMaster University and obtained degrees in psychology and educational psychology. Iris has extensive training and clinical experience working with children, adolescents, and their families who are experiencing learning, academic, attentional, and social-emotional challenges. Iris has trained in multiple settings in Toronto. She completed a pre-doctoral internship and did post-doctoral and clinical work at the Hincks-Dellcrest Centre and the Toronto District School Board, and was a part of the research team at The Hospital for Sick Children’s Department of Psychiatry Research. Currently, in private practice, Iris conducts comprehensive psychological assessments.

Dr. Revital Ben-Knaz

Dr. Revital Ben-Knaz obtained her PhD in Clinical Developmental Psychology from York University in 2002. Revital underwent clinical training at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH), the Hospital for Sick Children and Hamilton-Wentworth Child and Adolescent Services. She led the Psychometry Service of the Child, Youth and Family Program of CAMH where she was responsible for the psychological assessments of children with an array of cognitive, academic, social, and emotional challenges. Revital directed and managed the Psychology Department at Blueballoon Health Services. Currently at New Bridges, Revital conducts comprehensive psychoeducational and social-emotional assessments. Additionally, she provides consultation and psychotherapy (such as cognitive behavioural therapy) for children and youth experiencing difficulties related to anxiety, depression and social interaction with peers. She also provides parent counseling and coaching.

Dr. Helena Goodwill

Dr. Helena Goodwill earned her Clinical Psychology Doctorate (Clin.Psy.D) from Birmingham University in the United Kingdom. Helena worked in a variety of clinical settings within the National Health Service (NHS) where she accrued clinical experience across a variety of community and hospital settings working mostly with children, adolescents, young adults, and families. Currently at New Bridges, Helena brings an eclectic psychological approach that is primarily rooted in the principles of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), however she also draws on theories from solution-focused therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and systemic principles in her work. Helena provides therapy to children, adolescents, and their families to support emotional regulation, anxiety management, mood disorders (e.g., depression), social struggles, communication difficulties, and connectedness. She also conducts comprehensive psycho-educational assessments for children with academic, attentional, and learning difficulties.

Dr. Carly Guberman

Dr. Carly Guberman graduated with her Ph.D. in psychology from the School and Clinical Child Psychology Program at OISE/UT in 2012. Prior to this, she attended McGill University and obtained her undergraduate degree in psychology. Carly has trained in multiple settings in Toronto. She completed both a pre-doctoral practicum and internship at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) and she conducted clinical research within The Hospital for Sick Children’s Anxiety Disorders Clinic. She also completed training at the Toronto District School Board. Carly has experience working with a range of presenting concerns, such as learning disabilities, anxiety and mood issues, and attention-related difficulties. Currently, at New Bridges, Carly conducts comprehensive psycho-educational assessments. She also provides individual therapy (e.g., cognitive behavioural therapy) to children and adolescents presenting with anxiety and mood-related difficulties. She often works closely with parents to help develop strategies to support such difficulties at home.

Dr. Rona Atlas

C. Psych.

Dr. Rona Atlas is a registered clinical psychologist with a Ph.D. in Clinical Developmental Psychology from York University. She completed her clinical training at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH). Before joining the New Bridges team, Rona worked at Blueballoon Health Services for several years. In her clinical practice at New Bridges, Rona conducts comprehensive psychoeducational and social-emotional assessments of children and adolescents with attentional, developmental, behavioural and learning difficulties as well as a wide range of social and emotional concerns. Additionally, she provides consultation and individual counselling (e.g., cognitive behavioural therapy) in consultation with parents for children and teenagers experiencing difficulties related to anxiety and depression as well as social and interpersonal difficulties.

Dr. Nathalie Conn Krieger

Dr. Nathalie Conn Krieger earned her Ph.D. in School and Clinical Child Psychology from OISE/UT in 2013. Prior to this, she received an undergraduate degree in psychology and biology from Queen’s University. Nathalie completed her pre-doctoral internship at the Hincks-Dellcrest Centre, and she also trained at North York General Hospital, Surrey Place Centre, and the Toronto District School Board. Nathalie has experience working with a range of presenting concerns including anxiety and mood disorders, OCD, learning disabilities, ADHD, and oppositional behaviour. Currently, at New Bridges, she conducts comprehensive psychoeducational assessments and provides psychotherapy (including cognitive behavioural therapy) to children and adolescents experiencing anxiety and depression.

Dr. Monica Apostol

Dr. Monica Apostol completed her Doctorate degree in the School and Clinical Child Psychology program at the University of Toronto (OISE) in 2007. Monica is registered as a School and Clinical Psychologist. She has worked at the Toronto District School Board, the Hospital for Sick Children (Child Development Centre), Accessibility Services of the University of Toronto, and in other private practices (Oshawa Psychological and Counselling Services. Markham Psychologists, and Chrysalis Psychological and Counselling Services). At New Bridges, Monica provides psychotherapy/counselling to children and youth as well as parent consultations. She uses an integrative approach (CBT, EFFT, mindfulness training, and self-compassion psychotherapy) that is client-centered, strength-based, and neurodiversity affirming. Her areas of expertise built over the last 20 years of practice include depression, anxiety/phobias, behavioural difficulties, peer relations, stress and school-related problems, body image, self-esteem/confidence and other childhood difficulties which may be associated with diagnoses such as learning disabilities and ADHD. More recently, Monica has taken a particular interest in the treatment of trauma related conditions, pursuing additional training in this area.

Dr. Victoria Purcell Evens

Dr. Victoria Purcell Evens graduated with her PhD in psychology from the School and Applied Child Psychology program at the University of Calgary, AB in 2022. Victoria has trained in various settings in Calgary and Toronto including schools, university teaching clinics, and community mental health centres. She completed her pre-doctoral internship at The Child and Adolescent Psychology Centre in Aurora, ON. In her practice at New Bridges, Victoria conducts comprehensive psychoeducational assessments and provides individual therapy (CBT) to children and adolescents presenting with a range of anxiety and mood-related difficulties. She also offers consultation and works closely with parents to help support their child’s emotional and behavioural well-being.
